Single Vineyard Shiraz: In appearance, an opaque mulberry core softens to a thin crimson rim. The nose is blackberry with dark spice aromas too numerous to mention. The palate offers purple fruit with hints of refreshing rich aniseed and chocolate. The finish is long and refreshing. 'ONE' Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz: This is the freshest and most vibrant expression of Heartland One thus far. The more subdued use of oak has allowed the fruit to take over the palette in the early stages of development and offer a truly dramatic and exuberant experience. Although 2018 shows all the signs of an age worthy red, this nuanced approach reveals the most boisterous articulation of these old vines to date. Directors’ Cut Shiraz: The wine shows a deep purple almost indigo hue. Lifted fresh fruit flavours abound and are guided by the spirit of white pepper, fennel and nettle, with a faint white truffle note. The palate is both soft and forward and dominated by blackberry and ripe persimmon. The spice notes on the finish will develop in the glass. Directors’ Cut Cabernet Sauvignon: The wine wears a ruby red robe with hints of purple. The nose offers blackcurrant compote, with cocoa and dried plums. The taste is of intense black raspberry with rumours of leather and a long, smooth and savoury finish. Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon will build body and complexity over the next decade。
