2005 Directors' Cut Shiraz - Japan Wine Challenge

The Japan Wine Challenge Magazine
 Oct 2007

Trophy - Best New World Red Wine & Trophy - Best Australian Wine

A great example of South Australian Shiraz, combining the ripe fruit flavours from Langhorne Creek and the full structure from Limestone Coast fruit. Deep ruby red with crimson highlights and great clarity. Sweet ripe cassis and mixed dark berry fruit dominate the bouquet with a spicy vanilla infused oak character. The palate has a great depth to it, with warm ripe and multi-layered fruit tones combining with the complex oak and spice elements. The structure is well defined by focused ripe tannins and good fresh acidity, allowing an elegant juiciness to prevail. The high quality of this wine can be detected in the seamless texture throughout the palate. A long ans satisfying aftertaste completes the wine. Drink now, but will cellar easily for a further 6-7 years.
