Heartland Dolcetto Lagrein 2005: Lighter Latins are perfect with pasta
Ross Noble, The Courier, South Australia Aug 2007The Heartland Dolcetto Lagrein 2005 is from fruit grown at Langhorne
Creek and reflects that region's ability to produce reds with abundant
flavour. Dolcetto, grown in the Piedmont, is early ripening and low in
acid but is fragrant and fruity. Its name derives from "little sweet
one" and that it is. The lagrein adds depth of colour and a more tannic
touch to the mix. Winemaker Ben Glaetzer says the wine benefits from
age is now "opening out beautifully". The 2006 version is also now
available and makes up a good twosome.
