Heartland Wines makes The Wine List 2005

Matthew Jukes, The Wine List 2005
 Nov 2004

Heartland Wines, 2002 Heartland Shiraz & 2003 Stickleback Red have been reviewed in Matthew Jukes' The Wine List 2005 - the 'global gazeteer of the best wine estates in the world'.

Heartland Shiraz 2002, Limestone Coast

"I have opened this bottle a number of times at wine tastings and every time that people try to guess the price, they overshoot by a fiver! This is a benchmark wine and it is setting the pace for all others to follow. The intensity of the black cherry and berry fruit, coupled with the smart oak, whisper of mint and whiff of leather gives you plenty to savour as you swirl this wine around the glass."

2003 Stickleback Red

"It's a funky little Cabernet/Syrah/Grenache blend that offers a welcome change from the usual formulaic Aussie cheapies".

Wine Regions of the World: "In this crucial chapter I have taken my lifetime's tasting notes and whittled them down to the best bodegas, chateaux, domaines, estates, tenutas and wineries .every entry has had to fight for its place in this elite list...there is an entire world of wine to be discovered in Australia and this is the definitive list. The top producers in the (Limestone Coast/Langhorne Creek) region are.Heartland."

Heartland Wines was also one of the 'specially selected estates' that was chosen as 'truly outstanding and every wine in their entire portfolio is first class'.
