Stickleback White - citrus tanginess
Jancis Robinson, British Airways In Flight Magazine Jun 2005Ben Glaetzer is one of the Barossa Valley’s most talented winemakers. Born
into one of the valley’s old wine families, he was voted Qantas Young Winemaker
of the Year last year.
He’s responsible for many a label, including his own super-modern Amon-Ra,
the family’s majestic Glaetzer Shiraz and the useful Heartland range. The great
majority of his output from the family’s big contract winemaking operation is
red but this blend of Semillon, Chardonnay and Verdelho grapes shows that he’s
good at making white wines too.
Stickleback White 2004: It has both body and a great refreshing, citrus
tanginess – much more interesting than common or garden Chardonnay. This wine
(is) screwcapped for extra freshness and zero risk of cork taint…
